Matariki
Matariki is a group of stars that show in our night sky at this time of the year - they signal the start of the new year. Matariki means 'eyes of God'. It's a time to celebrate the beautiful Maori culture and heritage. It's also a great reminder that we are all responsible for keeping this culture alive in our kiwi kids. We will be adding a few words and phrases to our te reo repertoire this week. We'll put them on the blog so that you can learn with us.

Cultural dinner
This is a really great night out (for real - not teacher spin). Bring a plate, bring your smile and have a good time. The Pasifika group have been preparing an item for this night - ALL of our girls are in the Pasifika group this year so it will be great to see you all there.

Young Vinnies
The Young Vinnies are collecting non perishable food and good unwanted clothing to help the homeless.  Each item donated will be worth 1 house point.  The class that collects the most house points overall will have a mufti day just for their class!
Mrs Todd

Junior Cross Country
You will need to bring: PE gear, drink bottle, running shoes (to keep your feet warm) and a warm jacket. Parents, Grandparents and friends are most welcome to come and cheer us on. It's pretty quick - we usually get through all 200 kids in about an hour.
