Assumption Liturgy
On Tuesday we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (that's the fancy name). In this liturgy, we remember when Mary was taken (“assumed”) into heaven, body and soul, after she died. This story is not in the Bible. However, a tradition handed down from the earliest days of the Church says that Mary died in Jerusalem and was buried in a tomb. But when the apostles opened the tomb again, her body was gone. Our families are most welcome to join us for this school celebration.
Healthy Lunchbox Competition
If you have any Countdown, New World, Four Square... advertising at home we would love to take it off your hands this week. We are using these to cut out pictures of the foods that we would like to put in a Healthy Lunchbox. The Healthy Schools team are running a competition and we might just have a winner in Room 5.
